I will writing my last exam tomorrow, but I'm taking a break to write an something.

My grandmom passed away. Her name was Hajah Bidah Manap. She had a stroke last Saturday and she passed away this morning at 10am. And I was writing my Stats exam at that moment.

Innalillah...

I'm so gonna missed her :(
She asked for something from Canada, and I promised her I will find it. I haven't bought it yet, and I was thinking of finding it tomorrow or the Wednesday. SO now, I don't have to look for it....
At least I feel okay that I spoke to her 2 weeks ago...remember I wrote bout my conversation with her in my blog? We were joking with each other at that time, taking about the time differences (which she is always amazed), nak beli ape utk die, when am I going to go back to Malaysia etc....and of course, she always always asked me to study hard and don't be a big spender (huhu, ni pon nenek pesan tau!).

Now, our Hari Raya won't be the same and I don't necessarily will go back to Jertih every 2 weeks like I always do :(
I'm reflecting back and see whether I've "repay" enough for her kindness and sacrifices she did for me. One thing I remember is, when I was 13, I just got back from my Pengakap camping and during that camp I was so stupid and wore a RM70 pants to play mud....(I got trick to wear that pants), and so that pants was in the worst condition anyone could every imagine! I got home, told my mom...and as u expected I was scolded. booo-hooo...but my grandmom was at my home at that time...she took that pants, and she scrubed it for me until it looked brand new. And of course, die bebel balik dekat my mom for scolding me. Oh dear! and I only stood there and watched her scrubed my pants (ngong sikit)...

Well, at least I know she's proud of me. She had my newspaper pictures in her glass cabinet. That was nice, and she keeps telling everybody about me and my sister. I'm happy that she's proud of me and I do my best to make her happy too whenever I was back at Jertih. I do hope I've done enough things to make her happy in a way to show how much I appreciate her.

I have an exam tomorrow. I got to put aside my sadness and focus. It's hard I know because I keep reminiscing about her :( and other stuff too! (the berangan part)

I want to be expressive
That is what I want to achieve when I started blogging
But, I'm not quite there yet. I want to write a sad story, and I want you cry with me, that is how expressive I want to be.
But, I couldn't make it happen here. I was good in my diary. I can cry whenever I read my story few years later. I had so much editing going on here that I don't feel I portray my feelings at that moment very well whether it is anger, sadness or happiness. The story feels disconnected most of the time.

Sila laaa kembali belajar

I'm studying strain, rheology and deformation path that I decided to stop and write since I havent been updating my blog for quite awhile. And at the same time I'm actually chatting with my sister. What else is there to talk about other than "kau nak beli kat aku?". Anyways, lembab betul die balas msg, so I decided to just keep typing out my updates.

Well, to date, I have another 2 exams to go bfore the total freedom! But, right after that I will have my fieldtrip which I'm really really looking forward to. I've checked out the resort where we are staying, and it's quite okay, just the room is a bit small :P, but the best part is of course, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Just wait for the pictures alright~

Oh...bet u dont know this yet...my bed is sooooooooooo messy! I have almost everything on my bed just to make sure I don't have to my bed for anything! I got food, all my notes, hand sanitizer, alarm clock, laptop, water etc etc. gosh, I even sleep with my notes~!! You may see this as "farisa is soo sloppy"...but it's doesnt look all that bad ok! For real!

I'm pretty much feeling "calmer" today compared to yesterday, I was freaking out cos I have to study Stats and Structural Geology in 4 days! It's actually managable, I was just not in the right mental set yesterday. lol. And you what I will do when stress starts to kick in? Well, I resort to food of course, then I have my DC++ for me to download tv shows, Iron Curler (lol) and of course, if I go insane, I will start pulling out my make up bag. That is the last thing I want to do! Only when I'm insanely stressed out! Right now, I'm all fine...cos I went to the review session and got some help :)

Do you still remember PDAC? I wrote bout it few weeks back. It was the first convention I ever went to. And guess what I received in my mail box today? It's a newsletter from PDAC. And...
my picture was on the front cover!! OMG. I was surprised that they actually chose a picture of me, Innocent and Steve to be on the cover. lol. It's not all that big, but u can definitely see that is me! hehe. takde description whatsoever...just a picture dekat border. Who cares..it's still big deal for me. As Innocent was saying: "After this, if u applying for a job, show them that newsletter so they can see who they are talking to!"...that's drama!

ok, seriously I gotta back to studying. tangan bau belacan dowhhhh... hahaha...

Currently, I am downloading all 5 seasons of One Tree Hill. I don't know whether I'm going to like it, but so far, the first 3 episodes are quite "mind-catching". You see, I think a lot. I know if I watch this kind of shows, I will have a hell of thinking to do after that. I hate that! I'm already thinking of few things now, in regards to that show. my oh my! Anyways, the point is, I finally understand why my 2 friends - who are fans of this show - love it so bad. I'm not gonna discuss the show yet, cause having watched only 3 episodes, don't give me that power yet! That show is supposed to be my summer watching thing. If you have something to say, keep it to yourself first! Just wait for another 1 month :)

Right, told you I wanna list down the things that my friends have been asking me to get them.
Here are the stuff. Most of them are asking for Victoria's Secret products. You know I'm a fan of that brand, so you can pretty much ask me anything 'bout it if you are interested as well. My cousins are asking me to get them the VS Secret Garden products, but they want only 4 items, and the sale is for 5 items. So, if you feel like fulfilling the fifth product, that would be nice. You can check out the items on VS website. It's 5 items for USD30. Sometimes, they might be more generous and make it 6 items. Last year when I was buying them for souvenirs to friends and family, it was 8 items for USD36. See, it varies, but most of the time, it will be 5 items for USD30. If you want PJs or anything like that, I have to warn you...what you see on the website, do not necessarily will be in the store. So that could be hard to find, if you are so specific. Also, I'm getting lip glosses for my mom and sister. Siapa nak, boleh gak. USD15 untuk 3 batang. OK, now I feel like a dealer already, just I do no get any komisen je :P

ok, that is just one thing.
Next, I have a friend who is asking for a CD, cause she can't find it in Malaysia. So, kalau nak CD, pon boleh.
Baju band Canada. Dah ade 2 permintaan for Alexis on Fire Tshirt. I still do not know where to get them actually :(
Then, I'm going to Disney Store too. Haha, I forgot to get something from Orlando. So, I have to get it there :D

And I'm getting something that has NY on it for Anna. and something that has Canada for my grandmom. I haven't decided yet what I'm getting for you, Anna, but I think t-shirt is cool eh? I'm getting myself a Hard Rock Cafe NY tshirt, keychain NY and NY paintings that people usually sell tepi Central Park. The pictures are all sangat cantik, and they don't cost that much :) They will be perfect for my new room!

oh, I have to tell you this. My granny is at my home right now! and you know my house is having a major renovation, kesiann tok, bising lah rumah tuh! and she's cute! she wants cetong from Canada. I was like, what is cetong. haha rupenye mug? lol. tp tak boleh mahal die kate. I got her a purse from New York & Company last year and it is for USD10 (sale), she was mad cos she says 10dollars is expensive. OKOK granny, got your point. Will find something cheaper than that! If it's possible :D merah lagi kaler purse tuh. hehe

ok, this is getting weirder. why am i writing my blog every single day? cos i'm just rambling in each post!!
and yes, i hate the way my blog is looking right now!!!


u know, it has been almost a year i've been blogging! when i first started, i wanted to accomplish few goals. sadly enough, some of them are not yet accomplish. and what are they?? u gotta wait for the anniversary. i don't remember when, LOL but i'm going to check after this. oh dear, do u even remember the first few post i had. it was boring as hell.. haha


oh, i hope my blog's 1st anniversary doesn't fall when i'm in my field course. oh that course i gonna give me a hard time. i can already smell it. not hard as in, it will be a tough course, but to live through out the 10 days will be a challenge itself!


can u imagine we will be out in the field from morning until late afternoon, hiking here and there and map out the area, but NO food is provided? OMG! we gotta cook our own food! the resort should have the decency to provide us food! what in the world is that place, do u even get tourist when we are not around? oh dear. and, the food is ON US! i paid extra 265dollars for that course, and now i have to buy my own food. oh dear...


but, the fun part is, i got to draw my first map! i'm so excited. lucky lucky i took 201 already. this could be a fun one! measuring strike, dip in the field. ade fold, fault (maybe) and it's an ancient meteorite crater! OMG! u gotta be excited for me as well :) u see, unlike some other people. i love maps. i even terkantoi masa amik map dekat convention. the map is free, tp org yg jumpe tuh...adeihhh...byk ckp pulak :P right, my point is, if u r with me somewhere, somewhere...u wont get lost. i just think i'm good at directions. tak macam arep. lol. ni dah byk condemn orang nih. tapi kak eyna and ainil will be delighted kan... *lama tau i waited for u guys kat OU...ungkit sikit*


orait, my next paper is somewhat 8 days from now. and it's geochem - my worst nightmare ever!! seriously! i did poorly in my midterm. but the prof's policy is that we get at least 9% more on the finals, he will not count the midterms and all the weight goes to the final. THANK YOU NEIL!! and u guys should now this, Neil is trying to find where the first living organism actually live. i think - dont quote me on this - he says, he found out that sulfur is the reason why organism start to live..and where can u find high abundance of sulfur, warm temperature? that is around the hydrothermal vents - a place where u can get lots of black smoke underwater.


right right...i'm totally clueless as to what i should be doing. oh, i wanna write out my orang-kirim-barang-list, just in case u want something, u can add on it. tp besok laa buat. my nose rase gatal2 now. cheers!!

o hai! this is how u say hi in lolspeakz language. whaaaaat? i got this from my flickr (they always show u greetings in different languages).

i just had my first paper just now! that went well :) and u know what we did after that? we went to tim horton of course. i just want to have tim horton as much as i can before going back to Malaysia :) and, we got to know that the ice cap supreme is out again! it's the limited edition of ice cap, they have it this time around...when it's warm (apparently, it is still 4C outside, not warm enuf for me). this year, they have different flavours, brownie and hazelnut ice cap. God i want it! last year's flavours were choc mint and butterscotch caramel. and take my words, butterscotch caramel is simply heaven! well, back to the story, the "iklan" looks so gooooood! since i didnt bring my money *huhu*, izzy had to pay it first for me. sorry, i forgot how much it was. and we had our first taste of it. i said to izzy "rase macam ice cap biasa je". izzy agreed. oh dear, we got fooled by the ad. sigh. ye la, our expectation is high since last year's flavours are so darn good. maybe u will say it does taste different than the regular ice cap, idk...ikut ppl's taste bud. oh what in the world...

then i decided to have an all pink night. giler gedik!
had my pink top, with my pink VS pants, and pink head band... it couldn't get any better!
just to set things straight...whatever i was doing, is totally pointless.
i even had my strawberry body mist (also pink) as my mic, since i was dancing and singing all night. bod*oh giler. as a result, my heart was pumping so fast, and i was out of breath due to the jumping and singing out loud. see, i can act stupidly sometimes :( boooo-hoooo and i forgot to have my dinner

this post might seems a little disorganized. i'm writing this at 2am...i have no clue why am i still awake cos i have to see Oz tomorrow....then we are going shopping.

gosh it's soooo hard to concentrate. i'm trying to find the cause of this. it could be because i'm studying at my desk, and not my bed! i cant recall to ever study at my desk for a final exam.

I just wanna show u the projected population for Malaysia that I found in my textbook
well, it says here: Projected population for Malaysia in 2050 is 46.9million people. And the ratio of people aged less than 15 to more than 65 (<15/65+) is 34/4. Oh WOW!! this is important. how come the ratio is so big? i thought our health care is getting better and there should be more elderly aite? i dunno, somehow gile besar population in 2050, in which i will be 63!! oh dear! TUA AND KEREPOT!

and lets compare to canada :)

ratio of <15/65+ is 18/13

Suggestion for watching

If u have the time, do watch The Stephen Hawking and Theory of Everything series. I think they are just starting. It's really good. I think my mouth was opened (literally, lol) through out the whole 40mins. I know bout Theory of Everything since last year, but I wasn't so motivated to go and read it although my dad has all the popular books on it. I'm doing it this summer break!

And once I did, I do want to share it here! Just hope I will understand.
And I'm downloading One Tree Hill too. Everybody is watching it, I feel so left out. The only drama series I watched is Gossip Girl. lol, cos the setting is in NY.
My watch list is always the reality TV show, although a friend pointed out that it's merely "reality TV", I just don't care and I love it! haha. Still, I can't have so many on my watching list. I might dropped a few TV series. Haven't decide yet what, but I will. (I think Beauty and the Geek has got to go)

Anyways, back to economics geography. I wonder why there are even in here. I have no freaking clue what they are! and the terms are so unfamiliar, and they are not even in the textbook! sigh!
I have to goggle some of them... lots of work here.. but I'm sure it is interesting, since my sister constantly points that out!

It can go either way

Oh my! I've just finished watching American Idol. Michael John is SOOOO good this week! I normally prefer David Cook and Carly Smithson, but this week, hands down it goes to Michael Johns. Blazing, molten HOT! (quoting Randy Jackson here man!)

Well, now I can relax, cos the stress is all out! Done with my final lab exam and the Poster! The lab final was disastrous by the way, but I'm gonna enjoy this moment anyways. The poster was brilliant! I had what I want, I got good responses and best part is, I didn't stutter at all during the entire presentation. My research is on Paleoclimate, which is the studying about the climate of the past thousands of years. I kinda like the way I ended it, since I have to do the conclusion, and I said "Earth can go either way now, either glaciation period (with the Younger Dryas event) or a global warming (with the Storegga submarine landslide event); hence the title for our presentation: Fire or Ice?". Darn, I love the ending cos it pretty much summarizes all our topics and bring it back to what we want to enforce that is whatever happened in the past, could occur again in the future. But somehow, Neil loves the other group's title (yea, there are 2 groups doing Paleoclimate): Running with Scissors. Bummer! Oh, if u dont understand what I'm saying, u kinda have to ask me :P

I don't care, I still wanna talk bout my poster, cos I'm darn proud of it. Staying up until 4am, and sometimes 3am working on it is all worth it! Despite the MAJOR dissapointment with the Lab Final last night which I dont bother talking, TODAY I can finally say, this poster alone put a smile on my face at least for this weekend!

We (me, Izzy and LP) were brainstorming each other topic when I kinda told them that the first part that I already did has a comic font, and it looks so out of place. And suddenly LP came up and say, "or we could have a comic theme for our poster. that would be creative". Well, Neil kinda ask us to be creative though. And so, we did all we could to "understand" comic since I dont read comic seriously. I only read my brother's comics which are dragon ball and smthing bout wolverine. Other than that, NOPE! and so, we had to do a lot of downloading, especially the FONTS! oh! that's my new thing, downloading cute, fierce whatever fonts!

So, u know I like to keep every moment "intact", so I took pictures of the process. It's not lame, thank you.

The layout was drawn by Izzy and this is how it initially looked like. Izzy did an amazing job! SOO proud of her. And since we are using my laptop, I have to do all the organizing parts, which I dont mind although that would mean I will spend the most time. The poster's template is 60inX30in and so, as u can see, it is so hard to place things. And since my mouse is broken, I have no choice but to rely on my touchpad mouse. Susah laa juga, but it's possible. Can't tell u how bad I was all the nights cos I just couldn't stop swearing if I did smthing wrong that would cost me even more time.

60% done. But it has A LOT of text and Neil doesn't want that! And we have not added our comic strips yet. This is the worst part cos u wanna edit all this and make it as concise as possible, tough chance man, but it's possible *again*

All DONE!! Happy! But we had a problem converting it to pdf. I was so frustrated cos if it couldn't be saved as pdf file, I can't use the fancy fonts and so that means all the hard work goes into the sink. I was so mad! but, Yahoo Answer gave me the help that I need and so, now I know how to do it. Oh, man, that was a HUGE relieve!!

The size of the poster relative to me....! (Annas, pay attention! lol :P) It's huge! and it's 6ft by 3 ft. Oh, I was just so happy at this time, although it was after the disastrous final lab. I dont even have any mood to rehearse that night. LP was just lying on the couch. Oh my!

Oh wow, we got excellent reviews from ppl, even asking "do u use some special software to do this?". We just thought we had to stand out a little bit cos there are 2 groups doing the same topic. Glad we took this approach althought I think ppl was shocked to see the finish product. I think some thought it was a little bit childish and it could not possibly be presented on a conference (this is what Neil is trying to emphasize, "I want u to experience what ppl do in Poster conference with new findings and all"). I hope nobody thinks like that :P
